Trico's Power Quality Protection Program:

Power surges can come from outside your home  -- as with lightning strikes or disturbances on power lines, but that they can also be generated from other appliances right inside your home. Power surges can damage or even destroy your valuable appliances.

Trico offers surge protection that eliminates or minimizes any damage to your connected equipment.

Trico offers two lines of defense:

1. A "whole house" device at the meter that protects “standard white appliances” (washer, dryer, refrigerator, etc) 
2. Plug strips that protect connected electronic equipment (computers, TV, VCR, etc.)

Protection packages:

• A surge protection module installed at the meter
• An eight-outlet computer grade strip
• A two-outlet wall mount to protect a your TV and DVD
• A one-outlet wall mount to protect a single device
• Comprehensive warranty program

Cost:

There is a one-time $74.95 installation price. A monthly fee of $7.95 will be added to your electric bill thereafter for a minimum of three years.

Sign-up:

Call Trico and request a lease agreement. Fill it out and return it along with the $74.95 start up fee*. You will be notified within three weeks of the installation/delivery date.

The monthly fee will appear on your regular Trico electric bill.

Please note that this program requires a signed three-year lease agreement that automatically renews. If you have any questions, please call Trico's Member Services department at 744-2944.

*To participate in the program you must lease the equipment for a minimum of three years. Nonpayment of the monthly fee will void insurance coverage even if Trico has not yet removed the surge suppression equipment. The indoor protection modules remain Trico's property for the first three years.
