Below you'll find detailed information about your Trico bill, including the different kinds of payment options Trico offers for your convenience. If you can't find the info you need, please call us at 744-2944 and we'll be happy to help.
Electric bills are mailed to all members each month, a few days after the meter is read. The normal bill is for approximately 30 days of service, but may vary from a minimum of 25 to a maximum of 35 days, because of the number of working days in a month, bad weather or holiday schedules.
Please see the section on rates and service charges for more information, or contact our business office for more details.
Explaining Your Bill:
We have set up an example bill that you can navigate around and it will explain what each different piece of your electric bill is. Click here to open the example. If you have further questions don't hesitate to call our Member Representatives and they will be happy to assist you.
Remember to always check the back of your bill for any important information Trico is sending out to its membership.
All bills are payable no later than 15 days from the date the bill is rendered. Any payment not received within this time frame shall be considered delinquent and may incur late payment charges.
All delinquent bills for which payment has not been received within five days shall be subject to the provisions of the cooperative's termination procedures. This involves giving the customer five days advance written notice of intent to terminate service.
If you can’t make your electric bill payment on time, you may be able to make special payment arrangements with our member services department. The following rules regarding payment arrangements were adopted by the Trico Board of Directors in December of 2003:
Please be advised that as of October 1st, 2007, Trico Technicians, no longer accept check or cash payments in the field on delinquent accounts.
For the safety of our employees we respectfully request that you please pay your bills using any of the available payment processes that Trico provides.

A locked entrance, dog, or other problems may prevent the meter reader from reading your meter at times. If the cooperative is unable to read the meter on the scheduled meter read date, the cooperative will estimate the consumption for the billing period based on the consumer's historical usage. If your bill is ever estimated, it will be noted on your bill.
After the next actual reading, your bill will be adjusted if our estimate turns out to have been too high or too low.
If you feel that there is an error in the calculation of your bill, please contact our business office. Our member account representatives will answer any questions you have on your bill. When contacting our business office, please state your name as it appears on your bill and whether your call is in reference to a residential or commercial service.
1) Levelized-Budget Billing: Using this program, the amount you owe is recalculated each month based on your kilowatt-hour usage for the last 11 months plus the kilowatt-hours you have used in the current month.
2) Fixed-Budget Billing: Under this plan, your payment is based on your last 12 months usage factoring in any applicable consumption trends. The account is analyzed in November and May. At that time, credits might be paid to consumers who use less than the calculated amount or payments made to those who have used more. In either of these cases, the fixed amount may then be recalculated.
Ask one of our member service representatives about this program, or sign up for it online by clicking here!
